ABOUT ME

Welcome to Frankly FiFi G, my own little corner of the internet where I share the candid musings and honest reflections from my wonderfully varied, and sometimes unconventional, life.

I'm FiFi, 45 years young, and for the last decade or so, I've been embracing rural village life on the picturesque outskirts of Derry-Londonderry, Northern Ireland, though originally I'm an Essex girl at heart.

Life has offered me a colourful tapestry of experiences. I've owned my own business, walked the corridors of power working with politicians, collaborated with influential brands, and proudly won awards for my photography and digital art. My professional journey has been nothing short of eclectic: from control rooms and banking, through to law firms, local councils, and central government. I've also volunteered as a guide dog puppy walker and served as an appropriate adult supporting young people in the youth justice system.

Outside of work, I'm passionate about horses and horse riding; baking and cooking up storms in my kitchen; and capturing the beauty of nature through photography. My beloved Springer Spaniel, Woody, brings boundless joy and chaos to my days.

I'm deeply spiritual, yet not religious; guided by a strong sense of justice and fairness. Politically, I stand firmly left of centre, proudly pro-union, and passionately opposed to the far right. I'm currently on a personal transformation journey, having lost six stone so far, though, truth be told, exercise still doesn't come naturally to me.

Writing is my way of exploring and sharing the thoughts swirling around my mind; my unique perspectives, and my honest reflections on life's twists and turns. So, pull up a virtual chair, grab a cuppa, and join me as I delve into my world, frankly, openly, and unapologetically me.
